Online education myths

Online schooling is currently revolutionizing education today. More and more people are wanting to earn their education online every year because of the flexibility it offers students and working professionals. Although with online schooling, there are many myths that I hope to dispel today.
First, you do not need to have extensive knowledge working with computers. Most of the online colleges offer computer tutors who will walk new students through the process. If you happen to run into any problems, most of the online schools have 24/7 help desks. All of the online colleges are well aware that unless online students can efficiently use the programs and easily navigate themselves in a online environment, they will become frustrated and drop out.
Second, the quality of online courses is not lower than sitting in class and taking courses at a university. Through a virtual classroom, the student or working professional can connect with top-notch professors from all over the world and can ask whatever questions they may have. The online programs have entire departments dedicated to designing courses and training teachers. They constantly check course content and track teachers far more easily because the lectures, demonstrations, notes, and testing is all done online. Online courses also offers various features such as discussion forums, chat rooms, and blogs where they can ask anything to the professors.
Third, communication through online courses is not just demonstrated through numerous emailing back and forth from student to professor. Some of the schools have the latest software which enables students and working professionals to observe, hear, and ask questions to the professor as if they were literally sitting in the classroom.

Tips for Choosing an Online School

When you are looking for an online school, there are many things to consider. Here are some helpful hints before deciding on the right school for you. Don't just limit yourself to looking for an online school in your area. Broaden your search for your online education experience anywhere in the United States. All online schools must go through an accreditation process in order to be categorized, so look for proof of accreditation by asking an admissions representative when discussing your potential enrollment. Accreditation simply means that a college has proven that what they are teaching is current and factual. The methods they use to teach meet the standard requirements set by the National Education Association. If a college is not accredited, then it is looked at as inferior because it may not comply with current educational standards.
What also may be helpful is talking to admission counselors and finding out what type of student/teacher support network exists. You should also ask questions about computer support, because it is very important to be able to successfully download all information necessary to complete the course. It is important to make sure you know the background and credentials of the professors you are going to be relying on for your education, so research the bios and experience of the faculty. Be sure to read all online degree program descriptions that you are interested in and write down any questions that you may have.
If you know anyone who has taken a class online and had a positive learning experience, then you should ask them any questions you may have about the college or their online experience. Talking with a friend will give you the extra confidence to begin your online education.

Federal Pell Grants

One of the numerous potential sources of financial aid for college students is a Federal Pell Grant. A federal pell grant, unlike a loan, does not have to be repaid. Pell grants are usually awarded only to undergraduate students who have not yet earned a bachelor's or a professional degree. The money that is issued from a federal pell grant can be used to pay your tuition, purchase books and supplies, or pay for your transportation costs.
To qualify for a Pell grant, the student must demonstrate that they are in financial need, have a high school diploma, be enrolled to obtain a degree, be a U.S. citizen; permanent resident or other non-eligible classification of non-citizen. You must also have a valid Social Security number, make satisfactory academic progress for Federal Student Aid programs, and register with Selective Service if you are male between the ages 18 and 25. Lastly, you must certify by signing a FAFSA that you will use any federal student aid funds awarded to you solely for educational purposes, and that you are not in default of any federal student loan and that you do not owe a repayment of any federal student aid grant.
The amount of the grant varies on both the student's Estimated Family Contribution and many other factors. These factors are the student's cost of attendance (tuition and fees, room and board, books, supplies, and so on) and the amount of time the student attends school (whether the student goes to school for a full academic year or less and whether the student is full-time or part-time). Students may apply for this program by completing the Free Application for Student Aid online at FAFSA

Medical Assisting

Medical assistants perform administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician. The duties of medical assistants vary from office to office, but their work usually consists of scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes. Depending on state law, clinical duties include taking and recording vital signs, prepping patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by the physician. Medical assistants also may arrange examining room instruments and equipment, purchase and maintain supplies and equipment. They also must maintain a clean waiting and examining room for patients and staff. In small practices, medical assistants usually perform many other different tasks, handling both administrative and clinical duties, and reporting directly to a physician or another health practitioner.
Not only do medical assistants tend to really enjoy their well-lighted and clean work environment, but they are getting continuous interaction from many different patients. The medical assisting programs are offered vocational-technical high schools, post-secondary vocational schools, and community colleges. Post-secondary programs usually last either 1 year and result in a certificate or diploma, or 2 years and result in an associate degree. Many medical assistants are trained on the job, and usually only need to have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
As the health care industry expands because of technological advances in medicine and the growth and aging of the population, there will be an increased need for all health care workers. If you are considering the health care industry for yourself, then you will find yourself with a wide variance of jobs available to you once you have acquired the proper qualifications. Increase In Online Enrollment

While convenience and flexibility are among the most attractive advantages of online schooling, it accommodates both full time students and working professionals. Many individuals are choosing to pursue their educational journey through enrolling online, because with online schooling, you can take a class anywhere and at anytime. Individuals have the opportunity to access course material 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Students can talk openly with their instructors through online chats, which eliminates trying to coordinate with professor's office hours that may not be attainable.
Participating online is also much less intimidating than in the classroom, because this gives students a longer time to think about what they would like to say. Online education tends to promote more communication because students are then no longer confined to asking questions in class. The instructors and students are available through posting on message boards and emails. There is also no need to deal with impatient drivers, traffic, parking permits, and waiting in long lines to purchase books.
There are not the regular geographic barriers, so you don't have to settle for the classes offered at schools within driving distance. This is important for vocational education students, and professional working people, too. While job loss and unemployment are at a all-time high in today's society, many individuals are looking for jobs and are desperate to work any hours. This allows students who enroll online to make their own schedule on their own time and not be confined to limited opportunities in the classroom.
