Online Schooling Embraced by California Colleges as a Solution to Budget Cuts
As we already know, online schooling provides students with a wide variety of benefits and opportunities. It has become more and more popular, as a result, California colleges embrace online schooling as a solution to budget cuts. With the budget cuts having a serious impact on students across the country, tuition is higher, classes are cut, and expected graduation is prolonged for a few more years. Public college administrators in California embrace online education as a solution to offset the detrimental effects of major budget cuts. Soon, students will be able to enroll in e-learning classes at Kaplan University, which is a very popular and major online school, to fulfill degree requirements for their community colleges. The California Community Colleges and Kaplan have teamed up to offer students a viable option for completing their associate's degree. Their partnership is extremely beneficial because it provides students with a 42% discount on tuition fees at Kaplan when they enroll in individual courses. This is another example how a drastic drop in the availability of classes at colleges has frustrated students by increasing the length of time it takes to graduate. All of the 23 campuses of California State Universities face similar budget challenges. As a result, students take longer to graduate and this leads to many students dropping out before graduation.
